The Abstract Data Model Layer specifies the general requirements for creating data definitions within the Data Definition Layer.
■ Data Definition Layer: The Data Definition Layer specifies what data is exchanged through EPCIS, what its abstract structure is, and what it means.
Data definitions in the Data Definition Layer are specified abstractly, following rules defined by the Abstract Data Model Layer.
■ Bindings: Bindings specify concrete realisations of the Data Definition Layer and the Service Layer.
It defines specific vocabulary elements that may be used to populate the data definitions specified in the Data Definition Layer of the EPCIS standard.
